HOW TO ORGANIZE YOUR WORK

HOW TO ORGANIZE YOUR WORK

Some folks have asked me:  How can I organize the writing I have already done?

During the week of each writing session, I suggest that you type your entry into your computer exactly as you wrote it. Give it a title and a date. I include the time of day because 8:00 am writing is different from 12:00 am work. This way you will not get behind in recording your writing into the computer. You can go back to the piece later for editing. More on recording your edited work later.  Keep writing, Anne

I print out a copy of the original Story Bit with date and title and put it in a 3 ring notebook.  It is amazing how much work this proves to myself  that I have written.  I generally keep the original in the notebook it started in, yet I write the name of the filepath on the top.  Sometimes it is easier to refind a piece of writing in the notebook because I remember what the handwritten version looks like

I sometimes print out 2 copies and write edit in pencil on one of them. (I now only print out a copy when I am ready to work on each Story Bit so I don't have such a mass of daunting paper.)
